Developing diplomatic relations between Europe and Djibouti, fostering cultural, economic and tourism exchanges and creating a network of Honorary consuls and Business Councils where the main topics tabled at the meeting between European Council on Tourism and Trade President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

 

The meeting has taken place on the occasion of the official visit of the global tourism institutions (European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy) head, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea to Djibouti to attend the official conferment of WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM status for Djibouti city.

 

H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesman of The Republic of Djibouti warmly welcomed the delegation on the premises of the ministry and expressed his ministry joy for the new recognition obtained by Djibouti as well his commitment to fully exploit this cultural and tourism award to promote Djibouti as a safe, promising and rapidly developing tourism, investment and cultural destination.

Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, European Council on Tourism and Trade President reconfirmed his full trust in the capacity of Djibouti to foster productive friendships around the world, to project a tourist and cultural prowess and marked his appreciation for H.E. Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf exertions and Ambassador Ayeid Mousseid Yahya and all the personal of the ministry.

Practical projects where mulled during the meeting as: cooperation in the framework of Parliamentary Assembly for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, creating a network of honorary consulates and business councils to support investment, to draw awareness and to construct bridges of friendship towards Djibouti.
